THE QUEEN BEE
OR THE HIVE MIND
February 2025
An original piece of music presented as an interactive experience.
Visitors are invited to engage with a series of sculptural objects that generate and transform musical elements through touch and movement. Each object responds in a distinct way - its behavior hinted at through poetic riddles that guide exploration.
By interacting with the installation, participants compose their own version of the piece in real time. The resulting soundscape is living and dynamic, shaped by both human gesture and environmental responsiveness. It forms an interconnected ecosystem in which every action influences the whole.
At its core, the work explores the porous boundary between self and environment. It asks what it means to listen - not only to sound, but to the world that produces it. Through tactile interaction and sonic response, the project invites reflection on our place within larger systems of living processes.
The accompanying text - a meditation on perception, embodiment, and interconnection - reminds us that life happens in the body, in the present, through the senses. The Queen Bee or the Hive Mind encourages patience, curiosity, and a renewed awareness of the symbiotic relationships that sustain us.
